Facilitating day-to-day transportation

The Trait d'Union (Hyphen) project allowed the RATP to simultaneously renew its stations' visual identity and improve the signage as well as the visibility of signboards.

To manage this impressive relooking, the RATP turned to GSDI in April 2015. As a result, thousands of colourful tiles now adorn the corridors, platforms, lobbies, counters, maps and vending machines of the Parisian subway.

A colourful relooking

"We've standardised the reception codes: they are now more modern and consistent. Whereas, so far, there were many different colours in our stations, dominated by orange and green, the new adornment now highlights grey, white and jade green. With the coloured small bricks, which remind of the subway wall tiles, we make the link between the staff and the clients." — Elisabeth Mathieu, RATP's client relationship manager.

Mobilizing know-how and logistics

The outcome of this wide project, spread both in space and time, is particularly satisfying. It was officially closed on December 15th, on the occasion of a reception at GSDI's headquarters in Massy, welcoming the RATP stakeholders to celebrate a realisation that continuously mobilized over a one-year-and-a-half period a dozen GSDI technician applicators.

Thanks to the know-how and adaptability of the laying teams, the tiles' application, the counters' lamination and the installation of "Hello!" and "Good Bye" dibond panels completely fulfilled the expectations of the RATP. The operation was pursued by several other projects, including the visual harmonization of RATP bus stations.
